I’m loving these two warm and delicious Ayurvedic recipes to begin and end my day.  For breakfast I’ve been making an Almond, Date & Oatmeal smoothie, which I make at room temperature or warmer.  Before bed I’ve been drinking Golden Milk.  Both have a nourishing quality and thick texture to help me get grounded into my body and out of  all the dizzying thoughts in my head.  The benefits of Turmeric, which is the main ingredient in Golden Milk, are too many to name.  Google search it and you’ll see what I’m talking about.  I hope you try them out and enjoy!

Almond, Date & Oatmeal Smoothie

Almond, Date & Oatmeal Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 2 or 3 dates

  • handful of almonds

  • 2 tablespoons of cooked oatmeal

  • 1 banana OR 1 peeled apple

  • pinch of cinnamon

  • 1/8 inch piece of fresh chopped ginger root

  • 1 1/2 cups of almond milk

  • 1/2 cup steaming hot water

Directions:  Soak the dates and almonds in water over night.  Remove skin from the almonds.  Place all the items in a blender and blend well.  The dates will not blend well in a cheap blender unless they are soaked in water overnight.  Enjoy this recipe in the morning for a delicious breakfast.  Adjust amounts of any of the ingredients to your own personal taste.
