New Moon Greetings, dear Friends❣️

We are in a powerful season of change. The solar eclipse in Virgo has stirred deep reflections, and these last two weeks of the eclipse portal have been intense for many of us. Now, as we approach the equinox and step into Libra season, we are asked to seek equilibrium — to balance the scales between fear and love, distrust and kindness, despair and light. This is not easy work, but it is necessary, and it begins with how we choose to show up each day.

The last several nights, when I went to bed, the fearful and rageful energy felt palpable in my neighborhood. Our windows have been open all month as we enjoy this rare stretch of San Diego weather here in Cleveland, and the soothing sound of crickets has too often been drowned out by sounds of distress: gunshots and sirens in the distance, dogs barking into the night. It feels as though the fear and rage that ripple across our country are now right outside my window.

One night, a man walked the sidewalk in front of our home, screaming obscenities into the darkness. I froze in fear, wondering what we would do if his rage turned toward us. A few other times, I noticed a family, perhaps without a home, sleeping in their car on our street. I’ve seen the children playing quietly at sunrise before being ushered back into the car. My heart aches for them. I don’t speak to them, not wanting to intrude, but I send them blessings for safety and shelter.

I ask myself daily how we got here. Even when I put down the news and take breaks from social media, I feel the tension in my body, buzzing in my nervous system. It is “us versus them” everywhere I look.

And yet — I believe we are more alike than we are different. Most of us want the same things: safety, food, shelter, a paycheck, health care, freedom, love, belonging, beauty, connection, and a thriving earth to live within. We may disagree on how to get there, and we are too often divided against one another by those who profit from our fear and mistrust. But I still believe in the goodness of humanity.

So each day, I remind myself: be a force for good. Be of service. If I falter today, I can begin again tomorrow. I try to meet people as they are, to look them in the eye, to see them as human — even when it’s hard. I take care of my body, mind, and spirit so that I can carry compassion outward into my community. And I hold fast to the belief that most of us, in our own imperfect ways, are trying to do the same.

This is not about denying the rage and fear around us. It is about choosing not to let them harden our hearts. It is about remembering that kindness and care are still contagious, and that small acts of goodness ripple outward in ways we may never see.

I invite you to take just two minutes to pause, ground, and center yourself in the present moment by trying the micro mindfulness practice below.

I’d love to hear how this lands for you. How are you navigating the energy of this New Moon and eclipse portal? Did the mindfulness practice bring you any sense of balance or insight? Feel free to share your reflections in the comments — your voice may be the encouragement someone else needs right now.

May this Virgo New Moon and equinox bring you steadiness. May Libra’s scales remind you of the balance that lives within you. And may we all ripple love, kindness, and compassion outward — choosing to be the light that steadies the dark.

With love and blessings,
Jennifer 💫💖💫

A Micro Mindfulness Practice for Balance 🌑⚖️🍂

Take a comfortable seat and gently close your eyes.

  1. Breathe – Inhale slowly through your nose for a count of four, feeling your chest and belly expand. Hold for a count of two. Exhale through your mouth for a count of six, letting the tension soften. Repeat this three times.
  2. Center – Imagine a line of balance running through your body, from the crown of your head down to the soles of your feet. With each breath, feel yourself steadying along this center line.
  3. Balance – On your next inhale, breathe in the energy of love, kindness, and light. On the exhale, release fear, distrust, and heaviness. Continue for a few cycles, finding your own rhythm.
  4. Blessing – Rest for a moment in the spaciousness you’ve created. Silently affirm:
I am balanced. I am steady. I choose to ripple kindness outward.

When you’re ready, gently open your eyes and carry this sense of equilibrium into the rest of your day.
