Full Moon Greetings, dear Friends❣️

I am held. I am nourished. I am whole.

I repeated these words to myself at the beginning and ending of my Sunday morning yoga class. They came out of nowhere, honestly—but the sentiment feels deeply embedded in my soul these days. In that moment, I affirmed my intention to allow myself to be mothered by the Great Mother—our home, planet Earth, the Mother of us all.

The Great Mother holds me close every day. She surrounds me with infinite beauty and abundance. She shares her wisdom with me in every moment. I only need to be still and listen for her guidance. She shows me when I need to be rooted and grounded in order to grow. She helps me understand when to shine and when to retreat into shadow. She teaches that light, shadow, and darkness are all necessary for balance. She reveals what is nourishing and what is depleting—and how to gracefully lean into what restores me while releasing what drains me. Most importantly, she teaches me about the impermanence of all things, especially life. And so much more.

The older I get, the more I realize how much I want to spend the final years of my life surrounded by nature. As much as I love the activity of city life—the access to arts and culture—I know that someday, I want to nestle into a forest beside a rushing mountain stream and offer myself back to the dirt—back to the Great Mother who gave me life, who gives and takes life every day.

Mother’s Day is complicated for so many women, not just me. I wasn’t prepared for the last two years—it snuck up on me in a hard way. I am a bereaved mother and an empty nester, missing Sierra, who passed into the spirit realm, and missing Vanner, who has launched into his adult life far from home. And the hardest part of Mother’s Day is the reminder of my very complicated relationship with my aging, ailing mother.

This year feels different. I set the intention to focus on my connection to the Great Mother. I realize now how central this connection is to my spiritual practice—how it links me to all life and all of creation.

This year, I spent the weekend nourishing myself outside with love, care, rest, movement, and music. I didn’t rely on anyone else to do or say anything to validate me as a person, a woman, or a mother. And what I received in return was contentment, wholeness, and gratitude. It feels like a revelation—a major shift—to realize I can take this approach to life every day.

On this potent full moon in Scorpio, with Mother’s Day behind us, I’ll close with a blessing for all mothers, all who mother, and for the Great Mother of us all:

May you be held. May you be nourished. May you be whole. May you be blessed by the abundance and beauty of the Great Mother.

The world, our home, and all of humanity need this deep level of care and nourishment now more than ever.

Find a quiet moment today—indoors or outside—where you can pause and be still. Gently place a hand over your heart and notice the support of the ground beneath you. Close your eyes, and take three slow, deep breaths.

Silently repeat to yourself:
I am held. I am nourished. I am whole.

Let these words settle into your body. Imagine the Earth beneath you—steady, abundant, wise—offering her support without needing anything in return.

Ask yourself: What would it feel like to be held by the Earth today?
Let your answer guide one small, loving choice you make for yourself.
